The uber fast Monza circuit was the venue de jour for this weeks Thoroughbred round with two 25 minute heats on the menu. As it turns out, the french marque was the car to beat this week with Leigh McDowall and Jamie Rosenzweig sharing victories in the lightning quick Renault RS12. Vail riches in the Lotus and Russ Speak in the Ligier tried their best, but had to settle for the minor placings. This result hot's the championship battle up now with Jamie Rosenzweig only 6 points behind Vail Riches, so the decider at Watkins Glen next month should be a cracker.

We have a double update this week due to me being a bit slack and not attending the Spa round of the series. Jamie Rosenzweig took the honors there from Russell Speak and Leigh McDowall and continued his good form to sweep the 3 sprint races at Calder Park. He now finds himself only 1 point behind Russell in 3rd place in the championship with Vail Riches leading with a comfortable buffer of 10 points.
We opened the series to non AOR members this week and we saw a nice increase in attendance, with rookies Dale Barker (Son of Brett) and Craig Wright joining the action. We also had a couple of other drivers come in but they only stayed for one race. The circus takes a break of a few weeks before we move onto Monza for the penultimate round.

Brands Hatch was this weeks round of the Thoroughbred F1 series which despite the fun and challenging layout, saw a dismal 9 drivers turn up. Despite the poor driver attendance, some fantastic racing was had with Vail Riches the round winner from Russell Speak with Leigh McDowell and new-comer Tom Elovaris taking equal third honors.
While the dwindling driver turnout is a concern for some, it pretty much means that all drivers will be inline for some sort of prize at the end of the season. As the circus moves to Spa for a 50 min race next round, hopefully, the numbers will rise again.

Apologies to all for the delay in page update after the Brazil round of the Thoroughbred series. Vail Riches stamped his domination on the bumpy Interlagos circuit taking an easy win from the returning Darren Marsh. Championship leader Russell Speak took the final place on the podium, but surrendered his lead in the championship to Vail Riches. Thirteen drivers participated in the round as we move to Brands Hatch for the next round.
In other news, the Thoroughbred F1 Prize Cabinet has swollen to include season review DVDs of the 1970, 71, 712, 173, 74, 77, 78, 79 and 1980 Formula 1 championship. These have been kindly donated by Pete Abela, so give him a friendly wave if you see him on track and let him know your appreciation in Ventrillo.

Round 2 at the high speed Kyalami circuit as been done and dusted with Jamie Rosenzweig winning the round overall from Vail Riches and Russell Speak. The championship has closed up with only 6 points separating first from third and only 2 points between 4th and 6th place in the championship. Next round is a sole 50 minute race at Interlagos. Overall, a reasonable turnout for the 2nd round with 16 drivers trying their hand.

Round 1 has been run and won with a reasonable driver turnout for both races. Russell Speak takes the round win from Vail Riches with John Baldwin in 3rd place. In all 17 drivers braved the 79 Silverstone layout despite the extremely busy racing schedule at AOR with 3 major championship races within the week.
In other news, The Pitstop Bookstore and Biante models have joined the sponsor list along with Brumby's Bakeries to make the prize cabinet even healthier. I am continuing to pester other organizations, and have at least 1 other iron pretty warm in the fire.

Hi all.
Well, its snuck up on us to the point that the racing starts next Wednesday at
Silverstone for 2 x 25 min races. Due to the uncertainty of weight
handicapping of the cars, it will be a free for all, so choose your weapon of
choice, but I would encourage everyone to add some variety to the mix if they
feel game by taking on the challenge of using one of the "lesser"
cars.

We have had a stead influx of driver registrations, and with AOR's new kickarse server, big fields will be no problem. In other news, The Prize Cabinet has grown and we now have a few new items. Hopefully, we'll be able to add even more as I harass anyone who is willing to listen :).
